The First London Mayoral poll by Survation is not great for the Conservatives:

Lab 43%

Con 36%

Grn 7%


LD 5%

Respect 2%

Not a brilliant start for the Conservative campaign. They are 9 points down from their average polling result for 2012. Furthermore, Labour are up 3 per cent. This hardly shows that 'London is a Labour city', but it does show that it is easier for a Labour mayor to get elected. All the more reason for Conservatives to campaign harder ...

For more accurate results though wait for the candidates to be chosen. Notably UKIP, the Greens, and the Lib Dems have 19% of the vote. A lot of second preferences to play for ...
