Commenting on this sad news, CWF Chairman Sir Gerald Howarth MP said

"Cecil Parkinson was a stalwart of the Thatcher era. A great Party Chairman with exceptional political antennae who masterminded the 1983 election landslide, Lord Parkinson was responsible for privatising the electricity industry giving people choice of supplier. He remained staunchly loyal to Margaret Thatcher throughout which led him to set up Conservative Way Forward 25 years ago to defend Margaret Thatcher's principles and apply them to today's challenges. We salute his contribution and mourn his passing."

Founding member of CWF Mark Allatt tweeted "Lord Parkinson was an inspiration to those involved in setting up and his wise counsel will be missed."
